Windows Media Digital Rights Management (WMDRM)

Content owners may use different types of digital rights management (DRM) technologies to protect their intellectual property, such as music. Microsoft Windows Media Digital Rights Management (WMDRM) is one of the most common copy-protection technologies used.

To transfer WMDRM-protected music from your PC to your Nokia Nseries device, you have to have Microsoft Windows Media Player version 11 (WMP 11) installed. This ensures that you can enjoy the music you have purchased also on your Nokia Nseries device.

To go to the Microsoft web site to download and install WMP 11 free of charge:

  1. Click the Go to Microsoft site button.

To enter the Nokia music site without installing WMP 11 first:

  1. Click the Do not install button.

For more information on DRM and connection modes, see the device’s User Guide.

Note:

When you use Windows Media Player and use the USB data cable to connect your PC and your Nokia Nseries device, select the “Media player” connection type when prompted by the device. Use the “PC Suite” connection type for other Nokia Nseries PC Suite connections, such as calendar or multimedia data synchronisation.
